The joint collaborative event between BSE and LAQSA titled “Viksit Bharat: Quant Innovation Shaping Tomorrow” was successfully held on 5th June 2026 at the International Convention Hall (ICH), BSE, Mumbai.
The event brought together a diverse group of leaders, experts, academicians, researchers, technologists, and practitioners who are shaping the future of quantitative innovation and systematic thinking in India. This collaborative evening conference served as a vibrant platform for exploring innovation, education, research, evolving frameworks, and the growing role of quantitative methodologies across diverse domains.
The discussions centered on the evolution of indices, quantitative innovation, data-driven approaches, derivatives ecosystem developments, education, and the growing adoption of systematic methodologies. The exchange of ideas reflected the increasing importance of innovation, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing in building future-ready ecosystems.

Key Highlights
The event commenced with a welcome address by Rishi Kohli and Pankaj Mani, highlighting the importance of innovation, collaboration, education, and research in strengthening India’s quantitative ecosystem.
A special address by Shri Sundararaman Ramamurthy (BSE) reflected on the evolution of India’s indices and derivatives ecosystem, the importance of innovation, and the opportunities emerging from a rapidly evolving landscape.
The first panel discussion on Quant Innovation in Indices featured Ankit Singhania (Edelweiss AMC), Kamlesh Bhatia (SBI MUTUAL FUND), RAJARSHI SEN (BSE Index Services), and Pankaj Mani (LAQSA, Wilmott, RealWorldRisk), moderated by Rohit Kumar, (BSE). The discussion explored benchmark evolution, passive strategies, product innovation, index construction methodologies, and the growing adoption of index-based solutions.
The second panel discussion on India’s Index Derivative Landscape: Growth, Innovation & Regulation featured Shiv Sehgal (Nuvama Capital Markets), Rishi Kohli (JioBlackRock Mutual Fund), and Rajib Ranjan Borah (iRage), moderated by Sunil Ramrakhiani (BSE). The panel reflected on the growth of India’s derivatives ecosystem, technological innovation, regulatory developments, changing participation trends, and the future direction of quantitative applications.
The event concluded with closing remarks by Sunil Ramrakhiani (BSE), Pawan Mehar (LAQSA), and Anil Ghelani, CFA (DSP Mutual Fund), who reflected on the discussions held during the evening and expressed their gratitude to the speakers, partners, participants, and attendees for contributing to the success of the event.
